St. Nick's Day!

St. Nick brought lots of fun books, toys and candy this morning.

Then after breakfast, it was back to some older toys. He has been wanting to do the Play-Doh hair cutting for a few days.

Before noon today, we needed to get out and do something. He continually said he wanted to go to the Capitol, so that is where we ended up. However, on the way through campus, we just had to follow the food robot again.

Finally, we made it downtown. We knew there is no Capitol Christmas Tree this year, but I heard there were a few of them set up outside. Here are those pictures.

In the evening, we went to visit the zoo lights. However, something completely amazing happened as we were parking our car. In NextDoor, there was a post about strange lights in the sky. When looking at the thread, I learned about something called Starlink satellites. They are from SpaceX and part of a grand worldwide Internet plan. In the thread, it said they would be coming across the sky at 5:45PM. When we parked, we saw them. Just a chain of satellites about 340 miles above us (that's what Wikipedia says). They moved pretty fast. My camera didn't take a good picture, so I'll just attach the one from NextDoor. Pretty neat.

Meanwhile, the zoo lights were pretty amazing tonight. Quite a few people were out and about. Our zoo is free, so the $10 admission fee is something that we feel good about giving back.

The polar bear on the top of the Ice Maiden is new this year. He really liked going in there last year, so kind of too bad we couldn't see inside this year.

We decided that this one was accidentally good, so I am putting on the blog.
