Not too many photos today as it was another preschool day. He's off for the next four days, so we'll keep him busy after today.

I went to the library to pick up this Toddler Craft item. The library has been a really good resource during the pandemic.

On the way home from preschool, he spotted this green car. It has a spoiler just like his pink Hello Kitty car which was featured on day 340 of the blog. We like to look for those types of cars now when we're on the road.

Kindermusik tonight.....the goal was to walk around a circle and step on all of these squares.

Getting a bike is a different experience in 2021. I remember getting this as my first bike at a garage sale.

Now you get a brand new bike in a box.

I was able to put the entire bike together while on a conference call....so less than an hour.

The bike even comes with a water bottle. He was excited about that.

We are getting him a new bike helmet. The next few days are going to be cold, so this might be an indoor bike until Friday.

We also got to Waunakee to play with the Tonka trucks again. On the way there, we saw the man repair the neighborhood lights that are out. We figured about half were burned out. As I look out tonight, they all appear to work again.

Okay, back to the sand. There were a lot of kids at the playground as this is spring break for many local schools....apparently in Waunakee too.

This grader wanted to come home with us. Note, the grader part in the middle is broken off.

It was warm and windy out today, so I certainly didn't miss my chance to clean the garage floor.

They said it wouldn't rain for at least a week, so I took the car for the free car wash you get after an oil change. They have parrots here.

The sweet potato fries crisped together to look like a cross. Happy holy week!

He had a bit of energy after school, so we went outside to kick the ball around and work on other skills.

Today was an unusual breakfast, in that we actually had scones in two places.

Our first destination was the Lussier Family Heritage Center on the east side of town. It was very windy this morning, but the deck at the building is on the southeast side, so we were out of the wind.

After the first scone, we realized there was someone that must have slept under the deck overnight....we saw him come and go a few times. Was a little weird....so we decided to go to the nearby Aldo Leopold Nature Center, a favorite spot of ours. It was also out of the wind.

In the afternoon, we went to Cross Plains to check out their fancy new playground. We learned about it from another parent at the yellow playground yesterday. It is a huge new playground...wow.

The playground structure has three levels. You need ladder skills to get to the third level.

This is another one of those fancy two person swings. It allows the adult to swing more freely.

We'll come back here some day when there are less people.

Here is a video of us on that swing.

Here was another fun part. It was a steering wheel with all these balls that you could move around when you turned the steering wheel.

A late day art project.

Everyone is getting shoes to get ready for spring. The best part with new shoes is you can wear them in the house....if you get two pairs, you can wear them on your hands and feet.

It rained all morning, so we did our coloring and painting art.

In the afternoon, the rain finally stopped so we took out the wagon for a walk to the silverware chimes.

Here we are on our official march to the chimes.

Got a little distracted at the Middleton Outreach Ministry (MOM) Garden.

Here we are at the silverware. The flowers are growing nicely here.

After that, we decided to take the long trip all the way to the yellow playground.

I missed the photo for this post, but we had a good time working on the ladder and this curvy ladder in the foreground. Some of these playground items involve a lot of skill, so I was happy we got to work on them.

I forgot to add these art project photos from yesterday. A fun project where you would take colors and squirt them out on these circular cottony things.

I've been wanting to walk Picnic Point for about a year now. Today was the day. I think the last time I walked this was July 4, 2014. I remember the date because it was 4th of July and it was so hot that day that it was the only thing we did outdoors.

Here's what it looks like 2,457 days later.

I couldn't start off in the normal spot since there was a media interview being done

the start of my 2-mile round trip journey

there are a lot of spots to jump off the main trail to look at the city

a bend in the path

a place for a campfire, I think they have 5 places like this

the narrowest it gets, Lake Mendota on both sides

the final destination has this big fire pit...I would have taken a photo showing it all, but there was someone on the left side feeding their two children

birds

panorama of the actual point

After I got him at preschool, we went to the skate park next door before getting into the car. I figured he might want to watch these young ladies on skateboards.

Nice headphones.

Today he was home with me. After some morning meetings, we went up to Waunakee to play in their sandbox. These toys stay here year-round. You may remember we played with them in the snow in December.

this tractor has 3-wheels

The Tonka trucks are the best.

Sand volleyball court also makes a good sandbox.

Someone left a basketball at the courts...so we got a chance to...kick the ball around. Easier than shooting hoops.

In the tub, we had a chance to re-create an issue happening in the Suez Canal...on a much smaller scale.

We were able to get our stuck ship free.
