I went to Woodman's at 2:30AM. Here is the woman who needed money to get to Sun Prairie.
Today we didn't have Kindermusik on a Saturday for the first time in a few weeks. This meant we could go out for scone breakfast again. On the way to Merrimac, we pass through Lodi. Ironically, Lodi is where the author of the book I am currently reading, "Braving It," by James Campbell lives. His home and property are discussed at times in the book, so it was interesting to see it in person.
Here we are at the Merrimac Ferry. We were most recently here on July 31. After scones we took the ferry across Lake Wisconsin and then after 10 minutes on the other side, took it back.
The next set of pictures are brought to you by Alexa and Pioneer Woman (I think that is her name). On my Amazon Echo, they showed a quick recipe for Strawberry Oatmeal Bars. The recipe was simple, so we made it.
Here we are tamping down the oatmeal layer....
...then adding on the thin strawberry jam layer...
...and then the final layer of oatmeal.
After the baking and a nap, the craft of the day was to come up with a collage of all our favorite pictures from summer. Here we are making the collage. I think I'll post more complete pictures of this tomorrow.
Since our 4th of July celebration was cancelled this year, a local grocery store chain held the event tonight. They charged $10 per car to go to the event (1,500 cars paid). Since we didn't want to deal with the crowd, we found a nearby park to watch the fireworks from.
Here we are enjoying the strawberry oatmeal bars beforehand.
