So last week was the start of the school year. It consisted of getting iPads, computers, other materials and a check in with your teacher via Zoom (or something else). Today was the official first day of instruction. With that, our neighbors had this outside.

Around 7:15AM, a bunch of neighborhood kids and parents dropped by for a morning breakfast in the garage and to get their picture taken behind this sign. Then the school bus dropped by....and the students lined up to get their picture taken next to the bus while the flashing "STOP" sign was going. Of course with virtual school, no one got on the bus. The party wrapped up around 7:45 when all the students went to school on the computer.

Shortly after that, I told him we could go to any playground for about an hour. He decided he wanted to go to Waunakee to play with the dump trucks. After about 20 minutes, it started to rain a little bit. With the temps in the mid-50s, it was cool.

With the sand being a little wet, I convinced him that we should drive the trucks in the playground, which has the tire substance base.

We also checked out other parts of the playground before heading back.

While I had a fantasy football draft at 6PM, they did a little coloring on sandpaper. I heard it made a bit of a mess since the grit of the sandpaper really grabbed the crayon.
