Staycation day number 1. By the way, I just had to ask Siri....

We decided with our first day that we would head up to Sauk City and play on the beach on this beautiful 75 degree day.

First up, a red fox roaming the beach. I did not expect this.

Here we are at the destination. A lot of sand on the Wisconsin River.

I also have this fun boat to play with.

Next, we headed up river to the new park. This park was built last year. There is a new playground. But first, we had a snack of apple cider donuts and apple cider.

Then to the playground and splash pad. I like the playground because it only takes stairs to get to the top. Sometimes they get fancy and put in ladders and other difficult to navigate obstacles.

Now for the splash pad. We didn't realize it, but this splash pad is actually open. Normally splash pads close on Labor Day. However, this one will be open a few more weeks. We will probably return tomorrow when the weather will be warmer. We clearly did not anticipate this being an activity for this week.

Next up, the beach area...or as they call it, a "Canoe Launch."

It is a nice beach area here. No goose or goose poop, which rates high in my book.

When we got home, we did a little painting. 

Day 2 of staycation may be apple picking and some splash pad. We'll see what the day brings.
