Labor Day

We started our "summer" on Memorial Day at Epic, so we thought it would be best to end the summer season at Epic.

Here we are having scones on the deck in front of the waterfall.

They have so many interesting sculptures here, he said it was like being at the zoo. Here he is in front of the giraffes.

Also nearby were a hippo and rhinocerous.

They also have these fun animals that you can ride that are made out of re-purposed tires.

I think this one is a dragon.

In the afternoon, we attended a Wisconsin Union mini-course called "Paintacular." The instructor showed us how to paint a Memorial Union Sunburst Chair. We got the template, just needed to paint it in with a sunset and whatever else you thought needed to be in the picture.

Here is what we ended up with...

Your trivia question of the day.....the sunburst chairs are traditionally green, yellow and orange as an ode to John Deere and the agricultural history of Wisconsin. Bet you didn't know that!

At night, we decided to head back to Epic to play hide-and-seek near the castle part of the campus.

Here are some other pictures. You notice new things every time you come here.

If you stay here until about 7:15, the orb of the wizard starts to glow!

After this three day vacation, really tough to decide what day was best. Each really was fun but quite a bit different....from the ferry and fireworks on Saturday, and the splash park on Sunday and the Epic Day on Monday.
