Since I have work on Saturday morning, I had a chance to get out on Friday to do a special scone day on the shores of Lake Wisconsin (created by a dam on the Wisconsin River in Prairie du Sac). As far as I know, they have always had the ferry here, as it was cheaper than building a bridge. Anyway, here are the pics.

in line to get on, we saw this guy catch a fish

Here we are on the ferry. I takes less than 5 minutes to get to the other side.

Normally you can get out of the car, but with the pandemic, you need to stay in the car.

When we got home, a LEGO model of a ferry was built.

In the afternoon drive, we went out by Autumn Pond Trail. At a nearby farm, there is this interesting silo.

At night, we went to Pope Farms for a walk. I did not take any photos, so this is the one I'll use. He simply did not want his glasses anymore.

This is the closest that I have gotten to forgetting to post about a day....10:45PM..here we go.

Today's theme is jungle. It started off interestingly. I went outside to shake any wasps that decided to make a home in the umbrella...and out popped a bat!

After he fell out, he just stayed there on the table. When I looked out around noon, he must have woken up and found a new place to sleep during the day. Closest I have been to a bat in a while.

The craft of the day was to make a crocodile from the Q-Tips box.

After some meetings for much of the morning, we got to go for a walk up the hill, which I had just mowed yesterday for a little snack.

Keeping with the jungle theme, here is a tree frog.

The drive of the day took us to Exact Sciences and their new headquarters. They specialize in colon cancer detection.

In the evening, we found a large parking lot and scootered around.

I took the day off today, so we had planned to hit up a couple of playgrounds.

This first one is in Middleton Hills. I have this thought, even if the neighborhood is really nice, that doesn't mean they always have the nicest playgrounds.

Middleton Hills North playground

Looking down...I like these spider webby things.

Then we checked out the playground just north of Middleton Hills....I'm not sure what it was called, but it was fun too.

When we got home, we did some drawing of the pyramids of Egypt. I really enjoy coloring....so this works well as an activity we both like.

For our afternoon drive, we went out to Mazomanie to visit the Old Feed Mill. It looks like they are not really open in any capacity.

In the evening, we went for a walk at the University Display Gardens. Here we are looking at the tractors, and this mini-combine, which I have no idea what they use it for.

It is our France Day....no french fries, but some coloring of the Eiffel Tower.

In the mid-morning, we cleaned out the sand from the water and sand table....

...and made a Little People waterslide.

In the early evening, we went for a walk near Costco...here is a photo from March 2019 on the same plank, and then a photo from today.

At Costco, I saw this...and thought this might be fun some day.

I like the 50 state one
And he likes sweet corn.

Back to Monday and a busy week.

I got a chance to get out this morning. We were a little short on time. He was a little non-committal to anything outside....I mentioned the stroller, and he said "Yes." We did stroller with no shoes and not shorts, just a pull up and shirt.

In the afternoon, we went for a ride to Verona. Fun seeing the restaurants getting creative in creating a bunch of outdoor seating to make money while they can.

We made Mickey Mouse mashed potatoes for dinner. Mickey is kind of tough to see in the lower right...he's actually upside down...so do a headstand to see him better.

Kindermusik was tonight. This is a boat sailing around the kitchen.

For the first time in a while, we didn't have a Sunday scone picnic. Instead, Kai and I went out to the playground quick while it was still not blazing hot out.

We decided to do a Spain Day....so we started with watching about 10 minutes of Rick Steves. Here is a man eating ham from a pig that ate acorns in the wild. Apparently it makes for good tasting ham.

Here is the train to Spain.

Then we decided to make a sombrero. It would be an all day project...first up, painting the sombrero.

The afternoon drive took us through Middleton Hills and Waunakee. We were interested in seeing some fancy doors.

Then finally the craft being completed.

Today's scone breakfast took us to Mirror Lake, about 50 minutes north of us. This is about as far as we would go away from home. We found the beach the the water, and all was good. There weren't too many people here at 9AM.

After this, we drove to Ishanala Supper Club. This is supposedly well known. It's a beautiful spot, and something we should just do when we get a chance. They even have a nice, private beach to enjoy in the summertime.

On the drive back, we decided to see if the Dells were busy. I found it humorous that this Burger King was really busy, since it was drive through only.

To mix up our days a little bit, we went with an "Italy Day," where we would do Italian things. For our craft of the day, we decided to make models of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

The drive of the day took us to the post office to return some packages.

In the evening, in keeping with the theme, we made a pizza.

Then finally, we virtually attended the Opera in the Park.We created our own fort with some lights to get into the mood.
