112

Today is probably the day most people took off for the holiday. After a few hours of work, I was able to escape with Mom and Kai to the Aldo Leopold Nature Center for a little stroll through the woods and swampy trails. We didn't encounter too many people. It might be that time of the year that most people have re-buried themselves indoors.

The afternoon drive was to the compost pile again. Not too busy today. Grass has not grown much over the past two weeks either.

While he was sleeping, I was able to clean up the nest from the birds off the wreath. Here's a last look at their home.

Earlier today, we got the Amazon package and the missing drill bit piece for his birthday present. That meant he could play with the drill and put the bolts into the recycling truck. It is a much funner present now.

The craft of the day was to make a 4th of July sparkler. Here it is.

Then finally, the last of the birthday cake was his tonight.
