Kai's Birthday

Today's blog is almost all all about Kai's birthday.

Here he is getting up. When I asked him in bed what today's day was, he said "it's my birthday."

When we got downstairs, he saw the big pile of presents.

he said his favorite thing of the day was "opening presents," when asked about his 2nd favorite thing of the day...it was "opening presents."

After breakfast, the rush was on to get to the zoo. It was already warm in the morning. The zoo opened at 9:30. We got in shortly thereafter. The zoo has a path around to see all the animals. We made it through in about an hour. Here are a sampling of photos:

After the zoo, we saw a package on the front porch. It gave me an opportunity to see how many birds were still in the nest. Looks like there are two.

The early afternoon drive took us to Hy-vee. This is where they store all the food and bring out to your vehicle.

Once he woke up, it was back to opening presents...note, we didn't even open up all the cards today.

Then the annual picture in front of the house.

Then back in to read the Dr. Seuss book.

Then off and away in the evening to the outdoor pool at our gym.

when wearing this towel, he was feeling priestly, and said quite a few times "Bless you in the name of God."

And that's it for birthday number 3.
